50 km from Udupi, Maravanthe also known as Marwanthe is a seaside town with Arabian Sea on one side and the Satuparnika River on the other. With a mountainous backdrop pf Kodachadri Hills, the picturesque virgin beach is yet unspoiled by the flocking tourists and boasts of miles and miles of white sand. A long drive to Maravanthe along the coastal road is just perfect and seems surreal. You will instantly fall in love with the sunset here, with the crimson skies and golden sea and river that makes Maravanthe look more like a place out of the leaves of the fairy tales books of the children.

Near the beach is the beauteous Belekal Theertha falls near Baindur. An idyllic and the preferred picnic spot among the natives, the waters here are safe for swimming as huge gentle sea waves wash and splash you playfully. Dancing coconut groves and soft cool breeze add to the already perfect natural surroundings. The beach certainly deserves to be considered the second most beautiful natural beach in the world. The town itself provides you glimpses of the rich culture of Deccan heart of Indian including the well developed classical of Bharatnatyam, the holistic health exercises and lifestyle of Yoga & Meditation and the fortune-telling science of Vedic Astrology.
